To preserve Old Economy Village, supporters will have to summon the Harmonists' spirit of self-sufficiency. Bruce Bazelon, western division chief of historic sites for the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission, visited the village Tuesday evening and told a crowd of more than 50 people that Old Economy was too expensive for the state to maintain during its current financial crisis.
